Single women across Central Florida will be receiving a national direct-mail appeal soon that isn't from a dating service. Women's Voices Women Vote is reaching out to the largest group of unregistered potential voters in the country.
The voter-registration drive hopes to sign up as many as 4.1 million single women, including 966,000 in Florida. Leaders of the nonprofit, nonpartisan group have focused their registration drive on 22 states. According to the group, unmarried women now represent 26 percent of the eligible voting population, yet are less likely to register or vote than married women.
